AMARILLO– 31,000 children are currently in foster care in Texas and with the growing need in Amarillo groups are trying to raise awareness to find more foster parents.
Buckner helped Carissa Wingate find her daughter, Heavenly through the foster to adopt program.
“It just really felt like something I was supposed to pursue. I started the process in the summer and by the week before Thanksgiving I had my little daughter in my house,” said Wingate.
